Amos had sorted all of our flying stuff before I’d even got out of bed and we were up there by 11am to a rather chilly overcast morning at Fairlight. The wind was about 20 mph, fairly southerly and looking good so we lobbed ’em off and had a fantastic fly for at least an hour in brilliant lift and enough wind for hovering & kiting!
Soon enough Martin turned up and all 4 of us were going hell bent for leather in combat madness! It was smooth air out from the slope but rather choppy near the fence so we didn’t set up the limbo sticks until Robus reminded us about them a bit later.
Once they were set up (away from the bush of much turbulence) it was every pilot for himself with some excellent limbo skills into wind for ages until Robus & Martin upped the game with downwind limbo, multiple entry limbo (I think Martin won with 3 goes), slalom limbo (cross wind) and figure of eight limbo (I’d stopped listening by then as we were packing up by then!).
A brilliant 4 hour session, fortunately we’d brought enough / correct clothing (Amos wore 4 layers until he started running around fetching limbo fails), we left before the rain – winners I think!
